Item 8.01 Other Events.
On February 23, 2017, DineEquity, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the Corporation), issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors of the Corporation declared a first quarter cash dividend of $0.97 per share of common stock, payable on April 7, 2017, to the Corporations stockholders of record as of March 20, 2017. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.

Board Declares a Dividend of $0.97 Per Share of Common Stock | ||||
GLENDALE, Calif., February 23, 2017 DineEquity, Inc. (NYSE: DIN), the parent company of Applebees Neighborhood Grill & Bar® and IHOP® restaurants, today announced that its Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of $0.97 per share of common stock for the first quarter of 2017. The dividend will be payable on April 7, 2017 to the Companys stockholders of record at the close of business on March 20, 2017.
